Although it dates back to 1921, Berkeley Park was recognized for a long time as part of Underwood Hills. The community became recognized as an official Atlanta neighborhood again in 1996 and is bordered by I-75, Northside Drive, Howell Mill Road and 17th Street. Residents enjoy proximity to shopping and restaurants throughout Midtown and Buckhead as well as key cultural venues. The entire Midtown region is relatively green with quite a few EarthCraft and LEED certifications and farm-to-table restaurants. Spring brings out the cherry blossoms, summer ushers in farmers’ markets and winter brings ice skating and horse-drawn carriages to Piedmont Park.

An exciting four-bedroom, 3 1/2-bath, “green” contemporary home, within Berkeley Park, which sits on over an acre, was built in 2007 following some sustainable building practices. The modern home has hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, extra insulation and a tankless hot water heater. The master suite has French doors leading to an upper-level deck. The home was recently listed at $535,000. A 1930s Berkeley Park bungalow, recently listed at $174,000, is within walking distance of Georgia Tech and has hardwood flooring and a daylight basement.
