History

Alpharetta was founded in 1858 at the site of a small trading village and served as the political and business center of Milton County until 1931 when Milton merged with Fulton County. In recent years, Alpharetta has become a popular suburb of Atlanta with convenient access to the state capitol thanks to State Route 400.
