Milton is a North Fulton County community with abundant green space and 12,576 housing units. Home prices range from the high $100,000s to multi-million dollar estates. Neighborhood amenities vary, but it’s common to see swimming pools, tennis courts and championship golf courses.

“Milton was named Best Quality of Life in the state of Georgia and ninth best in the southeastern United States by the Business Journals By the Numbers survey in 2011 because of its great schools, impressive housing and high incomes,” said Jason Wright, Communications Manager with the City of Milton. “It is unlike anything else in the area because of its green space, wildlife and proximity to the largest metro area in the Southeast.”

When looking at the housing market, single-family homes are the overwhelming majority. A recent listing, priced in the upper $700,000s, has a front porch, three-car garage, a two-story foyer and living room, hardwood flooring, columns, French doors, wainscoting, built-in shelving and coffered, vaulted and trey ceilings. The spacious kitchen has two islands, double ovens, stainless-steel appliances and a wine rack. The master bedroom has a jetted tub and a separate shower.

Milton is known for its horse farms, acreage, estate homes, executive living and it is home to a number of large businesses, including Philips and Verizon. Milton’s stores include Target and Kohl’s and its most popular restaurants are Milton’s Cuisine and Cocktails, Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub, Cans Taqueria, ‘Cue Barbecue and the Union Restaurant, according to Wright. The closest hospitals are Emory Johns Creek, Northside Forsyth and North Fulton Regional.

Milton’s parks include Bell Memorial Park and Birmingham Park – comprised of 200 acres of untouched greenery - and Friendship Community Park.

Milton is a part of the Fulton County School System and its schools include two Blue Ribbon facilities and consistently rank in the Newsweek Top 500.
