Union Vale is a town in the south-central part of Dutchess County, approximately 15 miles east of Poughkeepsie and 70 miles north of New York City.

With over 500 acres of town-owned parkland, it has two town parks, Tymor Park and Frederick E. Godfrey Memorial Park.  Tymor Park is the largest municipal park in the state of New York and has many recreational facilities for visitors including sports fields, a pool, playground, rental halls, camping areas, an equestrian center, trails and historical sites.  There also is a private golf course, The Links at Union Vale, on the western side of the town. 

Several communities and hamlets make up Union Vale: Camby, Chestnut Ridge, Clove, Clove Mountain, Crouses Store, Lagrangeville, Hoxie Corner, North Clove, Pleasant Ridge, Verbank and Verbank Village.
