Stone Ridge is a hamlet located in Ulster County, New York, in the Town of Marbletown, along Route 209. Marbletown, formed in 1844, is at the eastern edge of the Catskill Park. Its historic hamlets that comprise Stone Ridge date back to the 1600s and feature beautiful stone houses.

According to the Marbletown website, “scenic landscape, mountain views and abundant farmland help define its rural character.” The town is rich in architectural heritage, with four nationally registered historic districts. It also notes that “historic homes, churches, restaurants, farm stands, retail shops, alternative and traditional health-care providers, a canal museum, a library and a performing-arts center can all be found in the commercial hamlets of High Falls and Stone Ridge.”

Programs for children, teens, adults and senior citizens are offered year-round at the Marbletown Community Center on Main Street. Also of note is the Stone Ridge Public Library, a special district library located on Route 209. Housed in a historic stone building, the library has been in existence since 1909. In 2000, it became a special district library.
