Spend a day in Big Canoe and you may see wild turkeys, fox, a covered bridge, a sweeping vista of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Amicalola Falls and boaters enjoying an afternoon on the lake. Big Canoe is home to Atlanta luminary Clark Howard and some of its newer developments, like Choctaw Village, contain eco‐friendly and energy-efficient Earthcraft-certified homes.

Schools serving Big Canoe include Pickens County Schools, Dawson County Schools and Wildwood Christian Academy.
