When it comes to culture, entertainment and attractions, Marietta is rich with it all. It is home to six historical districts that include homes and commercial buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is also home to several museums, including the Gone with the Wind Museum, the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art and the Marietta Museum of History. The city is situated around a beautiful downtown area usually referred to as Marietta Square. It is home to the infamous Strand Theater, museums, restaurants, shops and several Civil War-era historic places. In the center of the Square is Glover Park, an ideal place for a wedding, a picnic or just an afternoon stroll. Several festivals, concerts and activities take place in the Square each month, including a year-round weekly farmer's market.

Education

Several of the area schools have been rated as some of the best in the state of Georgia. U.S. News and World Report ranks Lassiter and Wheeler High Schools as two of the top 20 within the state. Marietta is also home to three colleges: Chattahoochee Technical College, Southern Polytechnic State University and Life University, and it is a quick commute from Kennesaw State University.
